Raccoons are a common nuisance wildlife species. They are strong and cause quite a bit of damage to homes and attics. Raccoons are responsible for a number of nuisance problems, from stealing food, to tipping over garbage cans, raiding ornamental ponds, etc. They typically weigh 10-25 pounds, eat almost anything, and are primarily active at night.

They do what they need to survive, sometimes ripping a hole in your roof and living in your attic. Once inside they can really wreck havoc by ripping up ductwork, tearing insulation off pipes, rip up wires etc. The bigger problem may be the biohazardous contamination they leave behind.
They urinate can defecate in the attic, and the droppings can contain raccoon roundworm or canine distemper, transferable to your pets. They will break into anything they can find, so you may find trashcans knocked over, or pet food bags ripped open in garage.
